關心童書的讀者，最近可能已經發現一系列由「空中英語教室」彭蒙惠博士推薦的雙語有聲書－－「小小實踐家」系列，目前上市的有六套，每套含繪本、CD和電子書。
乍看之下，因為由執台灣英語教學之牛耳的「空中英語教室」出版，會以為這是一系列兒童英語教學繪本，深入閱讀、聆賞之後，家長們必然會發覺，「小小實踐家」是針對華人創作的「品格教育」出版品。

多元的創作
這一套產品的獨特性，除了取材自真實的生活之外，同時以中英文雙語製作有聲書、電子書，以多元的管道增進兒童的學習興趣。每一個故事都有一首創作的主題曲，簡潔切題的歌曲，潛移默化地帶出品格的教導。繪本的作者，各有不同的趣味風格，藉著圖畫的世界，帶著孩子在想像中，領會生活的功課。除此之外，我們更在故事之後，設計了親子或可在教室中進行的遊戲、活動或手工。期盼透過實際的活動，讓孩子更深體會到的故事意涵。

製作的陣容
「小小實踐家」堅強優秀的製作群有：
中文故事創作：由榮獲多次「金鐘獎」「金帶獎」最佳節目企劃的楊淑清，和對兒童教育深具使命感的林盈呈執筆。
故事繪本：榮獲「十大傑出青年」的美國加州大學藝術博士黃美廉，把她的「第一本」兒童繪本「上帝寶貝」給了 「小小實踐家」。其餘的五位繪者，林柏廷、李士欣、莊河源、陳重光、劉志濬都是從事兒童繪畫、卡通原畫的優秀創作者，他們以各自獨特的畫風與詮釋，創造了故事裡的世界。
中文故事主講：由製作了四十二集兒童床邊故事「睡夢鄉」的知名製作人「惠蘭姐姐」江惠蘭擔任。講故事之外，更以她豐富的想像力設計音效和情境音樂。
英文故主講：由「空中英語教室」戲劇經驗豐富的教師Hazel Johansen和主講老師Vickie Pettis擔任。
主題歌詞創作：由金曲獎「最佳流行歌曲作詞人」的葉薇心，為每個故事打造歌詞。
主題歌曲創作：由國際知名、榮獲金曲獎肯定的「天韻合唱團」團員廖雅慧、王玫、溫克強、林世傳擔任作曲。
音樂音效製作：年輕的編曲家蕭文凱，創作靈感充沛，編曲經驗已經相當豐富，製作兒童的音樂是新鮮的嘗試，他的參予，為每個故事增添了聽覺的情感與享受。

「每天至少給孩子10分鐘，說故事給他聽，教導他生命裡重要的事。」是彭博士對父母誠心的呼籲，她了解雙薪父母精力與時間的有限，更關心孩子們成長的環境中，有太多的誘惑和挑戰，因而全力支持這一套童書的製作與推展。

A Character-building Product:
Readers who care about children's literature may have already noticed some new books—the "Little Builders" series—produced and promoted by Dr. Doris Brougham and Studio Classroom. There are already six sets on the market, and each one includes a storybook and a multimedia CD.
Take a look below. You may think that since the book is produced by Studio Classroom, a leader in English education in Taiwan, it is primarily English-teaching material. However, parents who take a closer look will realize that "Little Builders" is actually a series of character-building stories, songs and activities written specifically for Chinese audiences.

A Diverse Creation:
Beyond the fact that it is very true to real life, "Little Builders" is unique because the book, audio CD and multimedia CD are all bilingual in English and Chinese. It makes use of a variety of channels to promote children's interest in learning. Every story has an original theme song and the simple, catchy tune subtly reinforces the character-building message. The author of each of the six volumes has his or her own special way of using words and pictures to capture children's imaginations and lead them into life lessons. After the story, little ones can enjoy the game, activity or craft we have designed for them to enjoy with their parents or classmates. We believe the activities will allow them to more fully experience the meaning of the story.

The Production Lineup:
Meet the first-rate team of people who worked together to create "Little Builders."
Chinese Authors: Joyce Yang has won several Golden Bell awards for best program planning. Jasmine Lin has applied her special heart for children to her writing.
Illustrators: May Hwang has a PhD in art from California State University, Los Angeles and she gave her first book, God's Precious One, to the "Little Builders" series. The other five illustrators, Bo-ting Lin, Arnold Li, He-yuan Chuang, Chong-guang Cheng and Chi-jun Liu, are all distinguished illustrators and cartoonists in their own right. Each one has brought his or her unique personality and gifts to play in creating the visual world of the stories.
Chinese Narrator: Auntie Helena Chiang, who produced the 42 volume Children's Bedtime Stories series, reads the stories in Chinese. Her delightful imagination comes through in the variety of voices and music she uses in her narrations. English Narrators: Veteran Studio Classroom teachers and performers Hazel Johansen and Vicki Pettis read the stories in English.
Theme-song Lyrics: Linda Yeh, winner of a Golden Melody Award for best pop lyric, wrote all of the lyrics.
Theme-song Music: Music for the songs was written by members of the internationally known, award winning Heavenly Melody Singers: Esther Liao, May Wang, Johnny Wen and Solomon Lin.
Music and Audio Production: Angus Hsiao, has a special gift for production and already has a rich range of experience though he is still quite young. Working on children's music was a new experience for Angus, but his contribution adds another level of listening enjoyment to each story.

Dr. Doris Brougham's Heart:
Doris tells parents, "Take at least 10 minutes every day to read to your children and teach them what is important in life." She realizes that especially for working parents there are many obstacles and temptations that keep them from spending time with their children. That is why she supports the production and promotion of this new series of books.
