Read it!


  The aquarium is having Ocean* Days next week. Susie tells Rob about the special programs. People can learn more about fish and other sea* animals. Rob likes dolphins*. Maybe there is a talk about dolphins. Alex asks about whales*. They don't live in the aquarium. They are too big. But he can see the sharks*.


 


Conversation A


(in the Jungle Café)


Rob:     What are you doing, Susie?


Susie:   Hi, Rob. I’m writing a story about the aquarium. They are having Ocean* Days next week.


Rob:     How are they celebrating?


Susie:   They have special programs. You can win prizes, too.


Rob:     Fun! Maybe I can go. I like the aquarium. I like all the colorful fish.


Susie:   I like the sharks*!


 


Conversation B


Rob:     Tell me more about the special programs.


Susie:   Workers at the aquarium give special talks. People can learn more about the fish and other sea* animals.


Rob:     Is there a talk about dolphins*? They are such interesting animals.


Susie:   I’m not sure. But I can check the Ocean Days schedule.


Rob:     Great. Thank you!


 


Conversation C


(BS: at the aquarium)


Susie:  Thanks for coming with me, Alex.


Alex:     You're welcome. I like aquariums. Are there any whales* here?


Susie:   No! Whales are too big. But the aquarium has over 500 different kinds of fish.


Alex:     That's a lot. Are there any sharks here?


Susie:   Yes. Let's go look at them first.


Alex:     OK. I want to look at everything.

  Alex is hungry. He can eat lunch at Charlie’s Fish House. They don’t have fish tanks*, but they do have great seafood. They have shrimp*, salmon and lobster. Abby can order a lobster salad* for lunch. That is today’s lunch special. Rob likes Charlie’s Fish House, too. They have all-you-can-eat crab legs on Friday nights.

(in the studio)


Taylor:  Did you enjoy the aquarium, Alex?


Alex:     Yes, I did. But my visit made me hungry.


Taylor:  It made you hungry? Why?


Alex:     Because I love seafood!


Taylor:  Alex! Those fish are beautiful. How can you think about eating them?


Alex:     Because it’s lunchtime, and I'm hungry. Do you know a good seafood restaurant?


Taylor:  Yes, Charlie's Fish House has great shrimp*.


 


Conversation B


(in the Jungle Café)


Taylor:  Abby, do you like seafood?


Abby:   I like some kinds of seafood. I like salmon and shrimp.


Taylor:  Do you like lobster?


Abby:   I do. But lobster is pretty expensive.


Taylor:  The lunch special at Charlie's Fish House is lobster salad* today.


Abby:   How much is it?


Taylor:  The lobster salad is only $12.99.


Abby:   Really? Let's go there for lunch!


 


Conversation C


Rob:     Did you go to Charlie's Fish House for lunch, Alex?


Alex:     I did. The seafood was delicious. But there were no fish tanks*.


Rob:     Fish tanks?


Alex:     Seafood restaurants in Taipei have fish tanks. You can choose your own fish.


Rob:     Oh, right. I forgot about that.


Alex:     Charlie's has all-you-can-eat crab legs on Fridays. Let’s go next Friday.


Rob:     Sure! I love crab.
