Her most popular Christmas treat is a traditional* fruitcake. It’s very sweet and has fruit and nuts inside. Everyone wants a piece*!

Bertina: That’s right, and Christmas is a very busy* time at the bakery!
Rob: Everybody loves fresh baked Christmas treats. But not everybody is good at baking!
Bertina: Many people are too busy to bake or cook. They just want to buy a treat instead.
Rob: I love Christmas desserts*.

Bertina: Our most popular Christmas dessert is fruitcake.
Rob: That’s a very traditional* Christmas dessert.
Bertina: Yes, it is. People buy fruitcakes and give them as gifts.
Rob: What does fruitcake taste like?
Bertina: Fruitcakes are very sweet. There are nuts and pieces* of fruit inside.
Rob: And a fruitcake lasts a long time.
Bertina: It can. But you must keep it in the refrigerator!
