Rob will go to a college* basketball* game* tomorrow. Alex and Jim can go, too. Rob can order tickets online. The game will be good . Isaac College is playing Dunn University. They are both good teams. This is Alex’s first live* game! He’s excited!


 


Conversation A


(in the Jungle Café)


Alex:     Good morning, Rob!


Rob:     Hi, Alex. Guess what?


Alex:     What?


Rob:     There’s a college* basketball* game* tomorrow. 


Alex:     That’s nice. But why are you so excited?


Rob:     I love basketball. So I'm going to the game!


Alex:     That sounds fun.


Rob:     Do you want to go with me?


Alex:     Sure. What time is the game?


Rob:     It’s tomorrow night at 6 o’clock. 


 


Conversation B


(later)


Rob:     Jim!


Jim:      Hi, Rob. What are you doing?


Rob:     I’m ordering tickets online.


Jim:      What kind of tickets?


Rob:     I'm ordering tickets to the basketball game tomorrow. Do you want to go?


Jim:      Maybe. Which teams are playing?


Rob:     Isaac College is playing Dunn University.


Jim:      Dunn University has a really good team. Sure, I can go!


 


Conversation C


(waiting in line at the college gym)


Alex:    I’m so excited. This is my first live* basketball game.


Jim:      Live games are fun. They can be exciting.


Rob:     Yeah! The energy of the game is great.


Alex:     I can’t wait!


Jim:      I can’t wait to buy a hot dog and soda. I’m hungry.   


Rob:     OK. OK.  We’re almost inside.

The game last night was great! It was a close* game, but Isaac College won! The star* player made an amazing shot. Rob and Jim want to play basketball after work. Susie and Alex can join* them. They can play on court* three. Alex played a little bit of basketball in high school*. But he wasn’t on a team. Today, he can play on Rob’s team.

Rob:     The game last night was so good.  


Jim:      I know! Isaac College won by two points! The star* player’s last shot was amazing!


Rob:     Yeah. It was a 3-point shot! It was a really close* game.  


Jim:      Alex really enjoyed it. So did I.


Rob:     Let’s play basketball after work!


Jim:      Good idea. Do you have a basketball?   


Rob:     I can find one.


 


Conversation B


Susie:   Hey, guys.


Jim:      Hi, Susie.


Susie:   What are you talking about?


Rob:     We’re playing basketball after work.


Susie:   Oh, can I join* you? I saw the exciting Isaac and Dunn game last night on TV.


Jim:      Of course. Alex is coming to play, too.


Rob:     We have four people. We can have teams of two.


Susie:   Great! We can play against each other!


 


Conversation C


(At the basketball court)


Rob:     Hi, Alex. Where are Susie and Jim? It's after 6 p.m.


Alex:     They’re still at the station. They're going to be late.


Rob:     Oh. Then we can shoot some baskets first.  


Alex:     Good idea!


Rob:     Did you play basketball in high school*?


Alex:     Yes, but not very often. I wasn’t on the school team.


Rob:     Oh, OK. You and I can be a team! Jim and Susie can be a team.


Alex:     OK. Let’s go to court* three. It’s open.
