What do hummingbirds fly like?

Conversation A

(in the Jungle Café)

Greg:    Hey, Susie. Are you drawing something?

Susie:  Yes, a hummingbird. I saw one outside my window this morning.

Greg:    They’re so tiny!

Susie:  Hummingbirds are the smallest birds in the world.

Greg:   Really? I didn’t know that.

Susie:   The smallest hummingbird is only about six centimeters long.

Greg:    Wow!

Susie:  I know! And they fly really fast, too. Up to 48 kilometers per hour!

Conversation B

Greg:    Hummingbirds fly like helicopters. I read that somewhere.

Susie:  That’s true. They can fly straight up and hover. They can even fly backward!

Greg:    Amazing. And their wings move so fast.

Susie:  They do. Hummingbirds are really fun to watch.

Greg:    Where do hummingbirds live?

Susie:  Many places. They just need lots of food. They have to eat every 10-15 minutes!

Greg:   Kind of like me!
